Implementations of the present disclosure disclose a system and method for facilitating multi-currency payment transactions. According to one implementation, a plurality of currency balances are ranked and associated with a user account. Upon receiving a request for authorization of a transaction amount in a purchase currency, at least one currency balance is converted to a different currency based on the purchase currency and the ranking of the currency balances. The transaction is authorized if one or more converted currency balances of the user account exceed the transaction amount.
