PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fish oil deodorization method that can carry out the treatment in a short period of time, that is low in cost, that has a high deodorization effect and yet does not impair the active ingredients, and that prevents the deterioration in quality due to oxidation or high-temperature treatment.SOLUTION: The fish oil deodorization method includes: charging a fish oil and a powdered activated charcoal into a bread yeast-containing aqueous solution heated to a temperature at which the activity of bread yeast is retained; agitation-treating the same for one to three hours under a reduced pressure while retaining the activity of bread yeast, followed by heating within a range that does not affect the quality of useful ingredients of fish oil, to deactivate the activity of bread yeast, and agitating for one to three hours in said state; and then, heat sterilizing the same, followed by separating a fish oil. |
