PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve both suppression of occurrence of recording fault and suppression of wasteful ink consumption during bubble discharge.SOLUTION: A recording apparatus includes: a recording head having a discharge port to discharge ink; an ink tank that supplies the ink to the recording head via an ink channel; and suction means for sucking the discharge port by sealing a formation surface of the discharge port. The recording apparatus performs bubble discharge in the following manner. Firstly, bubbles are loaded into the ink channel by using, for example, a pump and a hollow needle. After loading the bubbles into the ink channel, the suction means is operated to suck the discharge port so as to discharge the loaded bubbles. |
