PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suitably absorbing an impact when a cover is opened with vigor and improving maintainability.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes an image forming part 10, a housing 2 in which an opening 2H is formed in a side surface 2M, and a cover 3 rockably supported by the housing 2 and displaced between a closing position and an opening position. The cover 3 includes a swollen part 630 swollen from a rocking axis X3 in a radial direction, a groove part 610 recessed in the swollen part 630, and an elastic member 650 stored in the groove part 610. When a direction where the cover 3 is rocked around the rocking axis X3 from the closing position to the opening position is defined as a first direction D1, a first end 651 on the downstream side in the first direction D1 in the elastic member 650 is connected to a first holding part 611 provided on the downstream side in the first direction D1 in the groove part 610 and a second end 652 on the upstream side in the first direction D1 in the elastic member 650 is connected to a second holding part 622 provided in the housing 2. |
