摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a start control device for performing start control to enhance the low-temperature starting characteristics of a cylinder injection internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: When the temperature of the engine when started is lower than a predetermined temperature, the start control device temporarily stops cranking and then performs fuel injection several times while adjusting a fuel injection amount and a fuel arrival distance so as to form stratified air-fuel mixture using a required amount of fuel in a compression stroke cylinder. After forming the stratified air-fuel mixture in the cylinder, it restarts the cranking to perform firing. Thus, even when a target injection amount at low-temperature start is increased to the extent of impossible completion of injection in a compression stroke in a conventional method, reliable injection and then firing can be applied to all of the target injection amount. As a result, the starting characteristics of the engine can be enhanced.</p>
