Techniques are disclosed for discovery of Wi-Fi serial bus and Wi-Fi docking services. Such networks include (but are not limited to) IEEE 802.11 networks.

1. A wireless communication device operable for services discovery, comprising:
a host module configured to utilize a defined Wi-Fi Direct Services (WFDS) framework for discovery of services that use Wi-Fi Direct technology, the framework including using a Service Name feature of the WEDS framework; and a transmitter interfaced with the host module to transmit signals including those consistent with the defined WFDS framework.
