Provided is a sulfur-modified polychloroprene which is not susceptible to generating a nitrosamine compound in kneading or vulcanizing. A sulfur-modified polychloroprene which contains 0.05 to 0.5 mass% of a functional group having a structure represented by chemical formula (I): -Sx-C(=S)-O-R0 (wherein R0 is C1-4 alkyl and x is an integer of 2 to 8).
