Embodiments of the present invention relate to the field of communications. Provided are a device and method for data transmission based on a content centric network. The method comprises: receiving a first source switchover indication, where the first source switchover indication comprises a routable prefix/a first source switchover indication identifier/a source routable prefix of a destination base station, and the source routable prefix comprises a service base station name/the source name of the source when communication is launched; and, adding a forwarding information base rule on the basis of the source routable prefix, where the forwarding information base rule added comprises a correspondence relation between the source routable prefix and an interface for transmitting data to the source after switchover of the source. The present invention implements forwarding of a user terminal-transmitted interest packet to the source via a post-switchover service base station of the source, and the entire process obviates the need to configure a dedicated indirection server for forwarding of the interest packet, thus simplifying system configuration. Also, communication efficiency is high, time consumption is short, and a requirement for real-timeliness is satisfied.
