PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device and image processing method which make it possible to efficiently observe images captured for long hours.SOLUTION: An image processing device includes a control unit configured so that a plurality of images continuous in time, obtained by the observation of a biological cell using a microscope over time, are acquired; a feature quantity of each of the acquired images is analyzed; on the basis of the analysis results, an index of the degree of change in the feature quantity between the images continuous in time is calculated; an image for which the index exceeds a predetermined threshold is selected; and the selected images are displayed on a display unit in chronological order. |
