PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heart rate measuring apparatus capable of measuring a heart rate of a subject even when there is a movement in the face.SOLUTION: An apparatus for measuring a heart rate of a subject includes: a face recognition device for recognizing the face of a subject in an image of the subject; a face organ detector for detecting the organ of the face in the image; an object region cutting-out device for cutting out a defined region from the image of the face of the subject on the basis of the position of the organ; a noise reduction device for acquiring a differential signal in which a noise component is reduced, by taking a differential between a brightness signal of a pixel group in the defined region and a signal of the noise component other than a heart rate component corresponding to the heart rate of the subject; and a heart rate detector for detecting the heart rate of the subject on the basis of the differential signal.
