PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyethylene resin composition reducing the amount of a low molecular weight component causing bleedout at high temperature while making reduction of residual chlorine sufficient and having smoothness of vessel inner face, and a vessel for high purity chemical. ! SOLUTION: There is provided a polyethylene resin composition satisfying followings (1) to (5). (1) a density is 950 kg/cm3 to 965 kg/cm3. (2) a melt flow rate (MFR) at 190°C and 2.16 kg is 0.01 g/10 min to 5 g/10 min. (3) a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) is 5 to 15. (4) an inclusive chlorine content is 3 ppm or less based on polyethylene. (5) an integral elution volume at 89°C or higher and lower than 94°C measured by cross fractionation chromatography (CFC) is 0.01 mass% to 10 mass% of the total elution amount. !
