摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system that can optimally control a position of a print bar or a print head to correct for other factors that may adversely affect depth of a focus or a positional error when forming an image on a photoreceptor medium. ! SOLUTION: A method dynamically focuses an LED bar 38 or a print head by using piezoelectric stacks 410. The piezoelectric stacks 410 are mounted on both ends of the LED bar 38 to adjust a focus of the LED bar 38 against a surface of a photoreceptor 36. Piezo level could be either controlled through active feedback of some description such as optical input or electrical input, or as service input or manufacturing input. With electronic control, focus adjustment can be made by a machine, and dynamically, if needed. A flextensional cell structure is employed to move the LED bar in order of 50 μm in a direction closer to the surface of the photoreceptor or a direction away from the photoreceptor. !
