1. A method of producing a bird deterrent device, comprising:
forming an elongated base having first and second wings extending from opposite sides of the base, wherein the base comprises (a) a first recess adjacent to the first wing and (b) a first stud extending from a bottom of the base; inserting a first spike into the first recess; and deforming the first stud via heat staking to cover at least a portion of the first spike with the first stud and secure the first spike to the base.
