PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide improved image processing devices for use in image-guided surgery.SOLUTION: A system for image-guided surgery includes an image processing system, a medical tool comprising a shaft and a tip, and a display configured to display real-time representation information of the medical tool including position information of the tip regardless of whether the tip is covered or visible. The shaft includes an optically detectable feature that allows a position of the tip to be determined.
