PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the suppression of variation in temperature of colors in a projection image in response to change in characteristics of a light source.SOLUTION: A light source device divides light in a first color emitted from a light source into first light and second light in the first color, and emits the first light and second light respectively in a first direction and a second direction on a first plane. A phosphor surface is excited by the light in the first color to emit a fourth color including a second color component and a third color component, and emits third light in the fourth color in a direction of a second plane intersecting the first plane. A dichroic mirror reflects the light in the first color and transmits the light in the fourth color. The dichroic mirror reflects the second light emitted in the second direction on a first surface to guide the second light to the phosphor surface, and transmits the third light emitted from the phosphor surface from the first surface toward a second surface. A relay optical system guides the first light to the second surface of the dichroic mirror on the first plane. |
