PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a novel imaging system for performing an increase in spherical aberration of an image forming optical system by a phase plate and image restoration by digital processing to a captured image. ! SOLUTION: An imaging system of this invention includes: an imaging optical system for imaging an imaging object; an imaging device for imaging the imaging object by the imaging optical system; and an image processing part for performing image processing of image data outputted from the imaging device. The imaging optical system includes: an image forming optical system for image-forming of the imaging object; and a phase plate added to the inside of the image forming optical system to increase spherical aberration of the image forming optical system to increase a focal depth. The image processing part performs restoration processing of an image obtained by increasing the spherical aberration, and imaged by the imaging optical system.
