[Problem] To provide a cutting tool having high weld resistance and wear resistance. [Solution] A cutting tool (8) having: a base (1) comprising a Cr-containing cemented carbide; and a coating layer (7) in which a Ti layer (2) comprising at least one layer of Ti(Cx1Ny1Oz1) (0≤x1≤1, 0≤y1≤1, 0≤z1≤1, x1+y1+z1=1), an Al203 layer (5), and an outermost layer (6) comprising Ti(Cx3Ny3Oz3) (0≤x3≤1, 0≤y3≤1, 0≤z3≤1, x3+y3+z3=1) are layered on the surface of the base (1) in the stated order from the base side. As determined by glow-discharge emission spectrometry (GDS analysis), the Cr content at the thickness-center position of a first Ti layer (2a) on the base side of the Ti layer (2) is lower than the Cr content of the base (1) and higher than the Cr content at a thickness-center position of the Al203 layer (5). The Cr content at a thickness-center position of the outermost layer (6) is higher than the Cr content at the thickness-center position of the Al203 layer (5). |
