<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber which achieves ride quality in a vehicle and the drivability of the vehicle simultaneously. <P>SOLUTION: The shock absorber D includes: a piston 3 coupled with a piston rod 2 movably in the axial direction; a damping passage 4, which communicates an extension side chamber R1 with a pressure side chamber R2; a housing 5 coupled with the piston rod 2; a movable partition wall 8, which is inserted movably in the housing 5 to divide the inside of the housing 5 into one chamber 6 and the other chamber 7 and coupled with the piston 3; a first passage 9, which communicates the one chamber 6 with the extension side chamber R1; and a second passage 10, which communicates the other chamber 7 with the pressure side chamber R2. When the shock absorber is extended or contracted at low speed, the piston 3 moves relative to the piston rod 2, so that the flow rate of a liquid passing the damping passage 4 decreases by that portion and a damping force is reduced. When it is extended or contracted at high speed, the movement of the piston 3 relative to the piston rod 2 is suppressed, so that the damping force is increased. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
