The invention relates to an apparatus for reading out x-ray information stored in a storage phosphor plate (1) comprising an input device (20) having a slot (26) through which a cassette (40) can be inserted into the input device (20), the cassette (40) being designed for accommodating a storage phosphor plate (1), and a read-out device for irradiating the storage phosphor plate (1) with stimulation light and detecting emission light stimulated in the phosphor plate (1). According to a preferred aspect of the invention, the input device (20) is designed for receiving cassettes (40) having different cassette widths (d1), wherein the input device (20) comprises one or more first elements (30, 36 - 39) designed for aligning and/or fixing cassettes (40) having different cassette widths (d1) in the input device (20) and/or one or more second elements (31 - 35) designed for shutting the slot (26) of the input device (20) in order to prevent ambient light from passing through the slot (26) when cassettes (40) having different cassette widths (d1) are inserted into the input device (20). |
