A swash plate type variable displacement compressor includes a housing (1) having a suction chamber (33), a discharge chamber (35), a swash plate chamber (25), and a plurality of cylinder bores (21A), a drive shaft (3), a swash plate (5), a link mechanism (7), a plurality of pistons (9), a conversion mechanism (11A, 11B), an actuator (13) that changes the inclination angle of the swash plate (5), and a control mechanism (15) that controls the actuator (13). The link mechanism (7) allows a change in an inclination angle of the swash plate (5) with respect to a plane extending perpendicularly to the axis of rotation (O) of the drive shaft (3). The conversion mechanism (11A, 11 B) converts the rotation of the swash plate (5) into reciprocal movement of the pistons (9) with a stroke length according to the inclination angle of the swash plate (5). |
