According to an embodiment of the present invention, the present invention relates to controlling a cooling water for a cooling system. A cooling water control method for a roof mounting cooling system on a vehicle in accordance to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a step of determining whether an operation switch signal of the roof mounting cooling system is on; a step of determining whether the vehicle is parked on a level surface by performing an AND operation of a step of determining whether the vehicle is in a parked state, and a step of determining whether a gradient value of the vehicle is lower than a predetermined reference value if the operation switch signal is on; a step of determining whether a main level sensor signal is off from a water level in a main cooling water tank; a step of determining whether an auxiliary level sensor signal is on from a water level in an auxiliary cooling water tank if the main level sensor signal is off; a step of operating a water pump to transfer cooling water in the auxiliary cooling water tank into the main cooling water tank if the auxiliary level sensor signal is on; a step of performing the step of determining whether the vehicle is parked on a level surface while operating the water pump; a step of determining whether the main level sensor signal is on and whether the operation switch signal is off; and a step of notifying a main cooling water tank water pumping completion including information showing water pumping into the main cooling water tank is completed if the main level sensor signal is on, or the operation switch signal is off. |
