The present invention relates to a hybrid card reader capable of performing bidirectional communication by being connected to an audio jack of a mobile terminal. The hybrid card reader of the present invention comprises: a card reader housing including an IC card holder for inserting an IC card and a magnetic card slot through which the magnetic card passes; a power supplying means connecting power when a predetermined FSK signal is detected from a host device; an FSK receiving means performing demodulation when the FSK modulation signal is received from the host device; a magnetic card circuit unit for reading the magnetic card when activated; an IC card circuit unit for reading an IC card when activated; a data separation means, when receiving the card data from the magnetic card circuit unit or the IC card circuit unit, separating the received card data into general data and main data including personal information; a coding means coding the main data of the data separation means; an F2F sending means performing F2F modulation on the coded data of the coding means and the general data of the data separation means and sending the coded data and the general data to the host device; and a card reader control unit activating the magnetic card circuit unit when the power of the power supplying means is connected, processing the command when the command is received from the FSK receiving means, and controlling to switch off the power of the magnetic card circuit unit and activate the IC card circuit unit when the IC card is inserted. |
