PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a structure for fitting cap pieces and columns, which can save the trouble to construct sealing materials at the site and prevent water such as rainwater from entering a handrail wall.SOLUTION: A cap piece 1 comprises a cap piece body 3 and a cylindrical projection portion 4 which projects upward from an upper surface portion 3a of the cap piece body 3 and is open on a lower surface side of the cap piece body 3. A coupling member 11 is provided at an upper end surface of a handrail wall 2 to project upward. The cap piece 1 is provided at the upper end surface of the handrail 2, the coupling member 11 is inserted into the projection portion 4 of the cap piece 1 to project upward from the projection portion 4, and a lower end portion of a column 10 is coupled to the projecting coupling member 11. The column 10 is provided with a column cover 16, and a periphery of the projection portion 4 and the coupling member 11 is covered with a lower end portion of the column cover 16, thereby saving the trouble to construct sealing materials at the site and also preventing water such as rainwater from entering the handrail wall. |
