<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a setting method which is capable of setting an unset electric appliance by utilizing existing set values set to electric appliances in the past, and further to provide a setting program and an electric appliance. <P>SOLUTION: The setting method is a method to be executed by a first electric appliance (an electric appliance 50) which is communicatably connected to a second electric appliance (a mobile terminal 10) desiring to be set, and has been set already with respect to prescribed setting items. The setting method includes the steps of: detecting that the first electric appliance is connected to the second electric appliance so as to be able to communicate data; determining whether the first electric appliance has been set with respect to a predetermined setting items or not, in response to the detection of data communicatable connection to the first electric appliance; and reading out set values corresponding to the setting items when it is determined that the first electric appliance has been set the predetermined setting items.
