919,352. End-catchers for spinning &c. machines; cleaning machines. BUHLER & CO. A.G., HERMANN. June 23, 1959 [Aug. 7, 1958], No. 21560/59. Classes 120 (2) and 120 (3). An end-catcher comprises a central housing 8 with extensions 7 each with a slot extending across a number of working positions of a drawing mechanism, and suction-conduits 12 in the slots, the inlet of each conduit being located in the immediate neighbourhood of the lower delivery rollers 4 of a number of working positions. There is a slot between each pair of roller-supports 3 and a conduit for each slot: each conduit has a flared inlet and is supported by a block 13 and secured by pins 15 in clips 17 secured to supports 3 in such a way that it is centrally-arranged in the corresponding slot and its inlet is tangential to the lower rollers. The extension has a stepped enlargement at 20 and a hinged part 21 operable by a lever so that the extension, two-thirds open in normal working, can be completely closed or opened when it is desired to blow compressed air through the passages to clear them. The housing 8 terminates at a fan and filter through which clean air is returned to the atmosphere. In other forms, the housing extends downwardly to a fan and filter in the base of the frame, and additional extensions such as 7 are provided to open near the spindles. The conduits may be of uniform cross-section, conical or stepped. |
