The present invention relates to a system and a method for providing digital postal information services which recognize postal information printed on postal mail from an postal mail image recorded by an unattended postal mail receiving device and convert the postal information into digital data. The system for providing digital postal information services according to the present invention comprises: a postal information preprocessing/service providing server to preprocess postal images received from unattended postal mail receiving devices in a plurality of unattended post offices to generate binary postal information data; and a digital postal information generating server to generate digital postal information from the binary postal information data received from the postal information preprocessing/service providing server. The postal information preprocessing/service providing server transmits a postal information generation request message including the binary postal information data to the digital postal information generating server. The digital postal information generating server responds to the postal information generation request message to generate a postal information response message including the generated digital postal information to transmit the postal information response message to the postal information preprocessing/service providing server. The postal information preprocessing/service providing server relays the digital postal information to the unattended postal mail receiving device.
