A display device according to the present invention comprises: a display panel composed of a plurality of pixels having a first and a second sub pixel; a gamma reference voltage generation unit which supplies first gamma reference voltages having high gamma values larger than a reference gamma value, and second gamma reference voltages having low gamma values smaller than the reference gamma value; a data driving unit which selectively outputs a data voltage, generated based on one of the first gamma reference voltages and the second gamma reference voltages, to the first and the second sub pixel; and a drive control unit which determines a gamma value and an output pattern of the data voltage according to a drive type of the display panel.
