<p>The present invention relates to a digital map device and an operating method thereof. The digital map device comprises: a display having a selection area which are configured as overlapped in a layer form in order to select mutually different resolutions, and having a display area displaying a map screen with a random resolution; a resolution display portion displayed in a certain location of the display, and displaying resolution information of the map screen displayed on the display area; and a control portion for controlling to display the map screen with a resolution that a layer supports if either one layer is controlled in accordance with a selection of a user on the display area, whenever displaying the map screen corresponding to a certain area on the display area, the digital map device enables to access and provide the map screen per resolution that a plurality of layers are respectively support, which the selection area provides. According to the present invention, the digital map device and the operating method thereof allow to easily recheck the map screen of the certain resolution previously seen, and provide a new interface in order to check a clear map screen all the time. Therefore, a performance for the digital map device is improved.</p> |
