<p>A method for patient specific, real time automatically adjusting at least one of technical exposure factors taken from the group consisting of:
- X-ray tube power (kV),
- X-ray tube current (mA),
- Exposure duration (sec) and
- Film speed
for acquiring a radiographic image, the method comprising the following steps:
A) A first (scout) acquisition is performed, using pre-defined parameters in a specific anatomical area of a patient;
B) A Region Of Interest (ROI) is extracted, and from it
C) A grey level histogram of the image pixels is provided; The method provides for the further steps of:
D) The histogram of the acquired image is segmented into at least two sectors;
E) At least a coefficient is assigned for each sector;
F) A weight is assigned to each sector coefficient;
G) At least an exposure parameter is computed according to the weights assigned to each sector;
then the exposure of the real acquisition is performed with the parameters computed according to the method.</p> |
