<p>The present invention suggests an apparatus and a method for controlling a sun visor. The apparatus converts the operation of a sun visor into a fully automatic mode in accordance with driving condition change such as locational change of the sun due to change of a road, determines a glare index in accordance with illuminance and brightness of the sun, and uses a sun visor which is a transparent material. According to the present invention, an apparatus for controlling a sun visor comprises: a sun position calculation unit calculating a position of the sun; an illuminance and brightness measuring unit measuring illuminance and brightness of a source of light; an eye level calculation unit calculating eye level of a driver; a glare index calculation unit calculating a glare index on the basis of a position of the sun, illuminance and brightness of a source of light, and eye level of a driver; and a sun visor control unit controlling a position of a sun visor which is mounted in front of a driver on the basis of a glare index.</p> |
