The present invention relates to a device for increasing a sensing distance of an ultrasonic sensor for a vehicle and a method for operating the same comprising: a transmitting unit which transmits a transmission signal whose frequency varies with time; a receiving unit which receives a reception signal which reflects in response to the transmission signal; and a correction unit which pulse-compresses the reception signal by correlating the transmission signal and reception signal.
