摘要 A method of implanting a shoulder prosthesis in a scapula of a patient includes the step of placing a guide over a primary glenoid component previously implanted within the scapula of the patient. The method further includes the steps of removing the primary glenoid component from the scapula and preparing the scapula for implantation of a secondary glenoid component, wherein the removing and preparing steps occur simultaneously.

A method of implanting a shoulder prosthesis in a scapula of a patient, the method including the steps of: creating a void in the scapula of the patient by penetrating a previously implanted primary glenoid component, wherein the void encompasses an area within the bone tissue of the scapula occupied by an anchor extending from the primary glenoid component and implanted within the scapula of the patient, wherein the void is created by cutting through the primary glenoid component and the anchor; removing fragments of the primary glenoid component that are no longer anchored to the bone tissue of the scapula after the step of creating a void; and implanting a secondary glenoid component within the void.
