1. A negative active material comprising:
a composite of SiOxCy, wherein x is from about 0.1 to about 1.2, y is from about 0.01 to 0.2 comprising,
a matrix comprising silicon oxide, silicon carbide, and carbon; andsilicon particles dispersed in the matrix; anda carbon coating film formed on a surface of the composite,wherein the intensity ratio of a SiC peak to a Si (111) peak in an X-ray diffraction spectrum is about 1 or more,wherein the amount of silicon is from about 45 wt % to about 65 wt %, the amount of oxygen is from about 10 to about 23 wt %, and the amount of carbon is from about 12 wt % to about 45 wt %, based on measurements derived from X-ray fluorescence analysis of the negative active material. |
