1. A bearing structure for an internal combustion engine having a rotational shaft, the bearing structure comprising:
a radial plain bearing configured to support the rotational shaft via a lubricating oil; a bearing retaining unit configured to retain the radial plain bearing, the bearing retaining unit including: (i) a bearing retaining unit body, and (ii) a cap fastened to the bearing retaining unit body and which has a smaller thermal capacity than the bearing retaining unit body; a heat supplying device configured to supply heat of a heating medium flowing through a thermal medium flow path on an outer peripheral side of the radial plain bearing in the bearing retaining unit, wherein:
the radial plain bearing includes a first halved bearing retained on the bearing retaining unit body and a second halved bearing retained on the cap,the heat supplying device supplies heat on an outer peripheral side of the second halved bearing in the cap and does not supply heat on an outer peripheral side of the first halved bearing in the bearing retaining unit body, andthe thermal medium flow path is formed on the outer peripheral side of the second halved bearing in the cap and is not formed on the outer peripheral side of the first halved bearing in the bearing retaining unit body.
