A system and a method to provide a slide show is provided. A method for a device to provide meta-data for a slide show for an external device comprises steps of: determining a plurality of images for the slide show; grouping the determined images in a plurality of image groups; generating a plurality of meta-data groups individually corresponding to the multiple image groups; and sequentially transmitting the generated meta-data groups to the external device. The meta-data group includes meta-data, related to the images included in an image group corresponding to the meta-data group.
