The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for setting up an exclusive channel for each frequency band to examine the status of a driving railway vehicle and transmit the status to a control center for railway vehicles by using a railway wireless sensor network. The apparatus for setting up an exclusive channel for avoiding interference signals, in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, comprises: an interference signal measurement unit which divides the entire available frequency band into a plurality of bands and measures an interference amount of each divided frequency band in communication with at least one sensor; an exclusive channel setting unit which calculates a moving average value of the measured interference amount of each divided frequency band and sets up an exclusive channel with a sensor by a slot unit based on the calculated result; and a frequency modulation unit which modulates a use frequency of each sensor corresponding to a frequency band of the set exclusive channel. Therefore, the present invention is capable of avoiding interference between a plurality of wireless sensors using the same frequency band and enhancing a transmission quality on the wireless communication by non-competitively allocating frequencies.
