The present invention relates to a liquid detergent composition, and more specifically, to a liquid detergent composition which controls viscosity by using an amphiprotic surfactant even if a viscosity agent or a structured surfactant system is not used, can be safely stored and used for a long period of time and can maintain high transparency by containing alkali materials and securing safety as well, has excellent usability, and is economical. The liquid detergent composition comprises: 1 to 60 wt% of an anionic surfactant or a nonionic surfactant; 1 to 30 wt% of an amphiprotic ion surfactant; and 0.5 to 15 wt% of an alkali material.
