The present invention relates to a battery module for an electric vehicle which includes: an external case (3) which forms an outer body; a plurality of battery cells (5) which are arranged on the external case (3) in parallel; a plurality of heat radiation units (7) which discharges heat to the outside by absorbing the heat generated in the battery cells (5); and at least one fixing unit (9) which fixes the battery cells (5) and the heat radiation units (7) to the inside of the external case (3) by the expansion in an installation process. Therefore, the number and the weight of components required for the installation of the battery cell and the heat radiation unit are reduced by fixing the battery cells and the heat radiation unit in the external case by the foaming expansion of a foaming agent and the number and the time of installation processes are reduced. Also, the quality of a battery module like heat radiation performance and a durable lifetime is improved by improving the heat radiation performance of the battery cell by the heat radiation unit by an air or water type cooling method.
