Disclosed are a common mode filter and a manufacturing method thereof. Provided are the common mode filter which includes a magnetic substrate, a receiving groove which is formed on the magnetic substrate, an insulation layer which is formed in the receiving groove and includes a coil pattern inside, and a magnetic layer which is formed on the upper sides of the magnetic substrate and the insulation layer, and the manufacturing method thereof.
