A laundry treatment appliance provided for washing or washing/drying laundry comprising at least one housing part (2) and at least one shell (6) which can be introduced into the housing part (2) and comprises at least one chamber (9) of a variable width capable to receive laundry treatment means sufficient to provide several laundry treatment cycles, and a shell cover (11), which closes the chamber (9) and has a filling opening (25), associated with the chamber (9), wherein the filling opening (25) has a width (28) which is determined with respect to a width (19) of the chamber (9), at least approximately as large as an average width (19) of the chamber (9), wherein the shell cover (11) is provided with a closure (26) for closing the filling opening (25), and wherein the width (19) of the chamber (9) in the space (27) of the filling opening (25) is larger than the average width of said chamber (9). As a result, filling of laundry treatment agents or the like into the chamber (9) is facilitated easier for a user. |
