The present invention provides a catalyst composition to inhibit inactivation of a catalyst for purifying exhaust gas from a compressed natural gas (CNG) combustion system having a precious metal component including platinum and palladium. More specifically, provided is an oxidation catalyst for purifying exhaust gas from the CNG combustion system in cars or other apparatuses, wherein first alumina into which palladium is impregnated, second alumina into which platinum is impregnated, and ceria component are immersed in a ceramic carrier, and a co-catalyst selected from the group consisting of barium, nickel, lanthanium, samarium, and yttrium is immersed in the first alumina, thereby significantly inhibiting inactivation of a CNG lean burn engine catalyst. |
