The invention relates to a system for automatic lighting of street markings for pedestrian crossings and to a process for making the said street markings. According to the invention, the system comprises several lighting fixtures buried into the pavement, each said fixture consisting of a box () welded to a reinforcing mesh () fixed onto the bottom of a hole dug for the lighting fixtures, the box () having an external frame () and being closed by a detachable cover () provided with an aperture in which another frame () is fixed to protect a secure glass piece (), where the cover () represents the cross street marking, its surface being covered with bitumen which is subsequently painted with light-reflective paint, so that the glass () is located at the level of the practicable road (), while inside the box () there is a LED lighting assembly () supplied from the main or from a photovoltaic installation () mounted on a post () in the vicinity of the pedestrian crossing. The process for making the pedestrian crossing markings comprises the following steps: stripping the pavement of the practicable road along the length and the width of the pedestrian crossing location, fixing a reinforcing mesh () onto the bottom of the resulting hole, mounting a LED lighting assembly () and connecting it to a control panel () mounted on a post () in the vicinity of the pedestrian crossing, detachably mounting the covers () of the lighting fixtures, pouring asphaltic bitumen on the surface of the covers (), between the external frames and the protective frames followed by the subsequent painting with light-reflective paint, mounting a dusk sensor () which will open the electric circuits of the lighting assembly () when a minimum natural light intensity is reached, as well as some laser sensors () and some pressure sensors () having the role of automatically switching-on the lighting assembly () upon the approach of pedestrians. |
