<p>A headgear 60 for use in holding a respiratory mask 10 in position on a patient’s face for positive pressure treatment of the patient, comprises a rear portion configured to engage a back of a patient’s head and further comprises respective left and right side portions. The rear portion includes a first portion 40 arranged to align substantially parallel with a top of the patient’s head in use and a second portion 50 arranged to align substantially parallel to a rear surface of the patient’s head. The rear portion has a first extensibility, and is constructed to resiliently return to a predetermined shape when not in use. At least one of the left or right side portions have a different extensibility to the rear portion. The respective left and right side portions each comprise a top strap 20 and a bottom strap 30, where the bottom strap 30 of the left side portion and the bottom strap of the right side portion are constructed and arranged to extend along a side of a patient’s head below an ear in use, and the top strap 20 of the left side portion and the top strap of the right side portion are constructed and arranged to extend along a side of a patient’s head above an ear in use.</p> |
