<p>The present disclosure is related to method and system for configuring updates to one or more electronic appliances using communication device. The system comprises device management server, electronic appliances and communication device. The device management server transmits notification message, indicating availability of updates related to an electronic appliance, to the communication device. Upon accepting notification message, the device management determines whether the electronic appliance is connected to device management server. If the electronic appliance is connected then the device management server configures the updates. If the electronic appliance is not connected, then it detects location of the communication device. If the location of communication device is within predetermined range then device management server configures the updates. If the location of the communication device is outside the predetermined range then device management server configures the reminder message and transmits the reminder message when the communication device is within the predetermined range.
