Disclosed are a digital broadcasting system and a data processing method. A receiving system among the digital broadcasting systems can include a receiving part, a demodulator, an equalizer, a block decoder, and an RS frame decoder. The receiving part receives a broadcasting signal including mobile service data and main service data. The mobile service data can form an RS frame, and the RS frame includes at least one data packet for the mobile service data, an RS parity generated based on at least one data packet, and a CRC checksum generated based on at least one data packet and the RS parity. The demodulator converts data of the RS frame among broadcasting signals received in the receiving part into base band RS frame data. The equalizer equalizes channels of data demodulated in the demodulator. The block decoder performs symbol decoding by a block unit for data equalized in the equalizer. The RS frame decoder performs CRC decoding and RS decoding to an RS frame unit for the decoded mobile service data to correct error generated in mobile service data in the RS frame.
