The present invention relates to a back plate type module apparatus used for display or lighting, a backlight unit and a manufacturing method thereof. It may include a body which has the shape of a plate which has a size corresponding to the size of a display panel, and has a facing surface opposite to the display panel; an insulating layer which is installed to the facing surface of the body and is made of an insulating material; a line layer which is installed on the insulating layer to be electrically insulated from the body; and light emitting device packages mounted on the line layer to be electrically connected to the line.
