The invention relates to a pneumatic actuator with radial drive which is employed for fixing the unreeling paper reels on a rotary support, in printing industry and in the manufacturing of corrugated cardboard. According to the invention, the actuator consists of a pipe () longitudinally guiding the wedge grips () fixed onto the grip holders () by some welded screws () and nuts (), a resilient tube (), deformed by the compressed air inside it, radially pushing the grip holders () with the special geometry surfaces () on the length () with two combined sliding and rolling motions, thereby providing permanent support to the resilient tube (), the grip holders (), being also radially guided by the pins (), have a limited travel between the surfaces () of the caps () and are returned to the initial position by the springs ().
