APPARATUS FOR MEASURING FLOW OF MOLTEN STEEL IN MOLD

The present invention relates to a device to measure a flow of molten steel in a mold comprising: a measurement sensor having a lower end dipped in molten steel supplied into a mold; a support part installed in the mold to support the measurement sensor; and a calculation part to convert a signal measured by the measurement sensor to the flow value of the molten steel. The present invention is able to check the flow pattern of the molten steel in accordance to the conditions of the process by accurately measuring the flow direction and speed of the molten steel in the mold in accordance to the flow change of the molten steel; thereby optimizing conditions for flow control to increase the productivity of a continuous casting process, and to improve the surface qualities of the cast pieces.
