Disclosed in the present invention is a method for decoding video which comprises the steps of: parsing MPM flag during parsing symbols of a block of a video encoded from received bitstream; determining if the fixed number of multiple intra prediction mode candidates are used for predicting intra prediction mode of a block based on the MPM flag; determining multiple intra prediction mode candidates based on intra prediction modes of left block and the upper block adjacent to the block during restoring intra prediction mode of the block by using parsed symbols after finishing parsing of symbols of blocks in case that multiple intra prediction mode candidates are determined to be used based on the MPM flag; and prediction-encoding intra prediction mode of the block by using multiple intra prediction mode candidates of the fixed number.
