The present invention relates to a balloon flower (Platycodon grandiflorus) cultivation method. According to the present invention, the balloon flower cultivation method includes: a first step of forming a patter to transplant balloon flower seedlings; a second step of furrowing the patter; a third step of arranging the balloon flower seedlings to the furrows horizontally; and a fourth step of covering the balloon flower seedlings with the soil and sheathing the soil. In the third step, the balloon flower seedlings are arranged on the ground horizontally to minimize the amount of the moisture coming in contact with the fine roots of the balloon flower seedlings and enable the balloon flower seedlings to grow in the horizontal direction. In the second step, the depth of the furrows is 20 to 40 cm. In the fourth step, the balloon flower seedlings are covered by the soil arranged in the furrows horizontally by 3 to 8 cm, and the top of the soil covering the balloon flower seedlings is sheathed by 5 to 10cm. The balloon flower cultivation method can reduce the occurrence of the pythium root rot and the growth of weeds to enhance the quality of the balloon flowers.
